Housebed with vertical storage
The housebed with vertical storage is a housebed model invented and made by us – zipa.lv!
Unlike classic house beds, where the chests are placed under the bed, for this cot we placed the chests vertically behind the bed!
We did this because we saw the need for this type of bed! When installing beds in clients’ homes, we often had to install beds in very narrow spaces.The classical drawers could not be fully used – pulled all the way out – due to lack of space.
For this reason, the idea of a vertical bed linen/mattress box was born, which would make the bed itself slightly wider. It would allow full use of the storage space in situations where the bottom of the bed cannot be accessed.
As an added bonus, we’ve left space for a small but functional bedside table next to the 2 pull-out chests, where you can place your little one’s favourite book, mantle or bedside lamp. The bedside table is stationary and cannot be lifted with the lid of the box, so you don’t have to be afraid to put things on it.
The cottage bed with vertical storage was made with canted, thin slats. The lttle one can access the bed on the right side, without a beam forming a door at the entrance. The front board is removable over time. We did not add a chimney to this cot. The roof of this beautiful single-storey cottage bed is classic, but a similar cottage bed can also be made with a modern roof.

As with all our children’s beds, the entrance, the type (with or without the front roof beam and door beam), the presence and location of the chimney and the slats can be changed and made differently for the cottage bed with vertical storage.
Other possible types of slats are horizontal slats, and vertical slats – round or canted thick.
All types of slats have rounded edges to ensure that the structure is safe for children and that kids do not get injured when bumping into sharp edges. We believe that safety and quality come first in every piece of furniture.
The single-storey housebed with vertical storage is made of branchless glued pine. It is made especially for ZiPa furniture. Finishing is carried out with safe and certified water-based paints that meet the requirements of European standards. This particular bed was finished with a water-based varnish.
We can make the size of the bed to fit your mattress and your needs! The most requested sizes are 70*140, 80*160, 90*180, 90*200 cm. Mattresses in these sizes are usually available from mattress manufacturers or can be ordered.
